Sen. Tim Johnson and his wife Barbara were not injured Tuesday, after the car in which they were riding struck and killed a deer near Murdo.
The accident happened at about 9 p.m. Tuesday, Fisher said. Chris Blair, a staff member in Johnson’s Rapid City office, was driving when three buck lept from a ravine onto the road. Blair missed the first two, but struck the third buck. The collision did considerable damage to the vehicle, although Blair was able to keep it on the road, she added.
The car and the deer were severely damaged.
