Motorcycles hit deer

State police reported a motorcycle operated by John Beckett of Carmichaels struck a deer on Quail Hill Road.

The collision occurred at 1:39 a.m. June 28.
Beckett was wearing a helmet. He was transported to Uniontown Hospital with major injuries.

At 8:18 a.m., a motorcycle operated by Roy Freeman of White struck a deer on Bear Rocks Road. State police reported that Freeman was thrown off the motorcycle and landed about 30 feet away. He was wearing a helmet.

Freeman was transported by STAT MedEvac helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh with major injuries, including possible broken ribs, jaw and several missing teeth.
